Jan 08, 2017 (newstodate): Bombardier failed to realize its plan for CS aircraft deliveries in 2017, aiming at 20-22 aircraft but ending at only 17 deliveries of the CS100and CS300 aircraft.
As one example, the Latvian carrier airBaltic had planned to take in its 8th CS300 aircraft before the end of 2017- but this goal was not reached.
Behind the delay in deliveries are also the sustained problems with the Pratt & Whitney PW1200G turbofan engines that are running behind delivery schedule and have also experienced several snags causing airBaltic to briefly suspend flights in October 2017 with CS300 aircraft during the night, allowing for technical inspections of a Pratt & Whitney engine accessory.
In the fleet of airBaltic are thus still only seven out of a total of 20 CS300 aircraft so far on firm orders.
