Jan 19, 2018 (newstodate): Since July 1, 2017, the Latvian business aviation service provider FBO Riga has extended its services to comprise also the four Nordic markets of Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
-With this expansion we are now offering customers supervision of their business flights into these markets, which is provided through cooperation with partners in each market, says Leonid Gorodnitski, Co-owner of FBO Riga with more than 70 staff.
-The idea is to provide our existing customer portfolio with a one-stop solution encompassing flights to and within these new markets, which is basically adding value to our business offerings.
-We do not, at this stage, consider own offices or staff in the Nordic markets. Our normal approach to expansion is first to operate new markets for a period of, say, one year to gather experience and statistic evidence. If a critical mass is achieved, we may consider moving on to set up own business there.
-Our single largest market for business flights, measured in operations, is Latvia where we are also headquartered, but besides the Baltic region we are present also in Belarus and Kazakhstan - and now also the Nordic, says Mr Gorodnitski.
At Riga Airport, FBO Riga, set up in 2000, operates a 1,200 sq m VIP and executive passenger terminal opened in 2015, and an 8,400 sq m hangar with maintenance and repair shops.
