Jan 10, 2018 (newstodate): Finnair has now started the process of moving operations from the old cargo terminal at Helsinki Airport to the new Finnair Cargo COOL terminal.
The process started as scheduled in the night January 7-8, 2018, and is now well underway.
-The transition of Finnair Cargo's operations to the new COOL Nordic Cargo Hub at Helsinki Airport is progressing in a steady fashion and according to plan at present, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo Marketing Manager.
-As expected some things have proved more challenging, but thanks to extensive advance testing, and a support team comprising Finnair Cargo staff and experts from the system providers Ldige and Accelya, we have been able to limit the impact on shipment handling.
-We are pleased to say that at the moment it looks as if the remaining operations will be moved from the old terminal to the new COOL Hub ahead of schedule, which was end of this week, says Ms Nyholm.
-Summing up, all exports out of the old terminal have left so there are only some import shipments for Finnish customers to pick up.
