Jan 19, 2018 (newstodate): The Danish company Blackbird Air Charter is currently waiting for its Foreign Operators License granting rights to operate charter flights to destinations in the USA.
-The application process with the US Dept of Transportation was initiated immediately after we obtained our own AOC on October 1, 2017, and the process is expected to be completed within about six months, says Ole Christiansen, Blackbird Air Charter CEO.
-With the FOL we will be free to operate not just into the USA but between destinations in the USA as requested by our customers. In the meantime we have been granted an "Operator Light" license that allows us to perform up to 12 flights at short notice.
-Especially our Falcon 7X aircraft is ideally suited for the task as its range will suffice to reach even destinations on the US West Coast, such as Los Angeles.
-While not opening a new business case, the Foreign Operators License will add further capabilities to respond to all customer inquiries within a short time-frame and bolster our position in the market, says Mr Christiansen.
After a reorganization in 2017, Blackbird Air Charter comprises three business units, all headed by Mr Christiansen .
One business unit provides the market with passenger and cargo air charter solutions, another business unit is Blackbird Crew, and the third - and new - business unit is Blackbird Air with an own AOC currently supporting the operations of one Falcon 7X and one Falcon 2000S.
