Jan 16, 2018 (newstodate): Russia's Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport saw cargo volumes growing by 18 percent, y-o-y, in 2017.
A total of 29,441 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, with mail volumes weighing heavily thanks to up to two daily flights by Post Russia adding up to 50 tonnes per day including loads on freighters and passenger aircraft.
The airport is located on the flight routes between Europe and several important destinations in East Asia, making it a preferred en-route fueling and maintenance stop for cargo airlines.
With two ICAO I and II runways, Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport serves also as a diversion airport on Polar route 1.
Foreign cargo carriers routed through the airport include AirBridgeCargo Airlines, Air China Cargo, Cargolux, Lufthansa Cargo, ULS Airlines, and Yangtze River Express.
