Jan 15, 2018 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport managed a 7.2 percent increase in cargo volumes in 2017.
A total of 9,739 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport including 7,955 tonnes of cargo and 1,784 tonnes of mail.
Cargo volumes this increased by six percent, y-o-y, while mail volumes rose by 12 percent in 2017.
The result in 2017 is obviously marked by the suspension of flights at Vilnius Airport due to runway reconstruction during July and August 2017.
While cargo volumes thus dipped during these two months, all other months have shown strong cargo growth in 2017, continuing a sustained growth trend from the preceding year.
