Jan 08, 2018 (newstodate): Air China seems to have won over competitor Beijing Capital Airlines for rights to start flights to Copenhagen in Denmark.
The carrier has thus now opened for bookings on flights between Beijing and Copenhagen slated for launch on May 30, 2018, with four weekly rotations using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
CAAC has thus granted the traffic rights to the Chinese national carrier while the competing carrier Beijing Capital Airlines lost the process with an application for flights starting from March 27, 2018, with three weekly rotations using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Air China earlier operated flights on the route between Beijing and Copenhagen but pulled out again from 2001, leaving SAS alone in offering daily flights between the two destinations.
According to the existing air services agreement between Denmark and China, only one carrier may be designated from each side.
