Jan 22, 2018 (newstodate): While Iran Air had to cancel plans for launch of services on a new route from Tehran to Denmark, its flights to Sweden are doing well.
According to latest statistics, Iran Air saw passenger volumes on its now two, in 2017 one weekly, flights to Stockholm up by resounding 71 percent, y-o-y, to 32,408.
Iran Air's flights between Tehran and Gothenburg, also in Sweden, saw volumes in 2017 growing by 41 percent, to 16,175 passengers.
Starting from December 15, 2017, Iran Air has doubled the frequency on flights between Tehran and Gothenburg, in Sweden. The carrier is now offering two weekly rotations on the route with Airbus A330-200 aircraft on a year-round basis.
Iran Air's route to Stockholm, is now operated with three weekly rotations also using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Iran Air was also expected to launch flights from Tehran to Copenhagen Airport from November 2017, but plans were stalled over the issue of the carrier's use of armed air marshals which is not permitted by the Danish CAA.
