Sep 05, 2017 (newstodate): Launch customer for the Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter, the Swedish/British carrier West Atlantic has now revealed the delivery scheme for new aircraft.
According to the company's Interim Report Q2/2017, the four aircraft so far ordered are scheduled to be delivered in February, August, November 2018, and February 2019.
The four freighters will be leased from GECAS, and the first aircraft is currently undergoing conversion at Boeing's modification facility in Shanghai.
The Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter will be equipped with CFM56-7B engines, and will carry up to 23.9 tonnes of cargo with 12 main deck positions over 2,000 nautical miles.
-The Boeing 737-800BCF will be an enabler for us to make a leap in reliability, capacity, and ability to expand in areas of the world away from our traditional markets, such as Asia, West Atlantic's CEO Frederic Groth told newstodate in June 2017.
