Sep 15, 2017 (newstodate): Statistics from Swedavia prove the sustained growth in cargo volumes at the country's capital airport, Stockholm Arlanda.
During the first eight months of this year, Stockholm Arlanda has been handling a total of 55,624 tonnes of cargo, mail excluded, which is 17.3 percent up on last year.
The airport is now seeing two weekly rotations by Korean Air Cargo, which will increase to three weekly rotations from September 22, 2017, as well as two weekly freighter operations by Turkish Cargo flying in from Helsinki and conituing from Stockholm to Istanbul.
Much cargo is also carried in belly holds of the passenger flights including among others Emirates and, since May 30, 2017, Singapore Airlines' five weekly Airbus A350-900 passenger flights between Stockholm and Singapore via Moscow, as well as Air India's three weekly flights from Delhi launched on August 16, 2017.
Integrators DHL, UPS and FedEx are all operating at Stockholm Arlanda, and the airport is also seeing eight daily postal flights.
