Sep 06, 2017 (newstodate): Rumor-mongering is playing up a vision of new low-cost flights between India and airports in Europe, including Copenhagen.
The only factual evidence is 5th Freedom Rights held by the Singapore-based low-cost airline Scoot, which would allow its Indian subsidiary to launch flights from India to European destinations.
-Since we have 5th Freedom Rights, we can operate direct flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata to destinations like Copenhagen, Vienna, Cairo, Bharath Mahadevan, head of Scoot India, told India Times.
From Scoot HQs, the message is, however, clear:
-Scoot would like to clarify that contrary to recent media reports, we have no plans to operate India-Europe services, the company says.
In the fleet of Scoot are now 38 aircraft including 15 Boeing 787, and orders have been placed for a further 44 aircraft including five more Dreamliner aircraft.
While Scoot flights to Copenhagen remain in thin air, Air India is to launch flights from Delhi to Copenhagen by September 16, 2017, offering three weekly rotations.
