Sep 14, 2017 (newstodate): Iceland's Keflavik Airport has now added its 22nd new destination in 2017 with the opening flights on a new route to Israel.
Starting from September 12, 2017, the Icelandic LCC WOW Air is offering four weekly rotations on the route between Keflavik and Tel Aviv.
WOW Air has introduced its first of two new Airbus A321neo ordered on the route, while frequency will go down to three weekly rotations from October 31, 2017, reflecting seasonal fluctuations in market demands.
The route is designed to facilitate low-cost transit flights between North America and Israel via WOW Air's hub at Keflavik.
Connecting the Icelandic hub to Israel for the first time, the Middle Eastern country becomes the low-cost carrier's 14th country market served from Keflavik - and the airport's 28th.
