Sep 14, 2017 (newstodate): New airline at Stockholm Arlanda Airport will be a Greek carrier, Air Mediterranean.
With the first flights on November 2, 2017, the carrier will operate four weekly rotations on the route between Athens and Stockholm with Boeing 737-400 aircraft.
Already serving this route are SAS, Aegean Airlines and the LCC Norwegian.
At Athens, the carrier will however offer transit flights to Bagdad and Erbil in Iraq as well as to Khartoum in Sudan, which will bring convenient connections from Sweden to these markets.
Based at Athens Airport with two Boeing 737-400 in the fleet, Air Mediterranean obtained its AOC only in January 2017 with a unique business plan aiming at covering the gaps between countries with poor or no connectivity, introducing new destinations to the markets and establish itself as a carrier to link Europe with rapidly expanding markets in Middle East and Africa, using Athens as a Hub.
