Sep 06, 2017 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ACMI and charter carrier GetJet Airlines is reporting a significant positive growth in 2017.
-Measured in flight hours and turn-over, we are now on a par with the full-year result in 2016, and we thus expect to end this year with an increase around 25-30 percent on both parameters, says Benas Laurinaitis, GetJet Airlines CEO.
-As planned, we added our fourth aircraft his summer, a Boeing 737-400, and we have just signed a lease agreement for one Airbus A320 with aircraft lessor AerCap. This aircraft will be delivered by the end of this year.
-As for the coming winter season, we have among others landed a contract with Tipi Tour, Lithuania's third-largest tour operator for flights to Hurghada from both Vilnius and Tallin during the winter season. Basically, we are seeing commitments covering our aircraft fleet in the coming season as well.
-Also before the end of this year, GetJet will become IOSA-certified which grants us access to larger and even more important airline customers in the future, says Mr Laurinaitis.
Set up in 2011 and based at Vilnius Airport, GetJet Airlines received its own AOC in 2016, starting business as an aircraft brokering company, but now focussing on charter and ACMI contracts for its aircraft fleet.
