Sep 18, 2017 (newstodate): Cargo volumes continue to be spiraling downward in 2017 at Estonia's Tallinn Airport.
August 2017 proved no exception as volumes dropped by 8.6 percent, y-o-y, to 931 tonnes.
Both imports and exports declined by 7.2 and 10.8 percent, respectively, while some relief was brought by a 19.8 percent rise in mail imports, to 78 tonnes probably primarily due to a rise in e-commerce.
Relief may also come from the fact that the month-by-month decline seems to be slowly dampening as August 2017 was actually seeing the smallest drop in monthly volumes, compared to preceding months.
In January-August 2017, Tallinn Airport was handling a total of 7,085 tonnes of cargo and mail, down 15.6 percent, y-o-y.
