Sep 19, 2017 (newstodate): After more than 25 years of preparation, Baltia Airlines, now renamed US Global Airways, may at long last become airborne.
In a most humble state, however, compared to earlier decade-long ambitions including first the launch of flights between New York and St Petersburg in Russia, and later adding flights to a number of capital cities in Eastern Europe including Moscow, Riga, Kiev, and Minsk.
Baltia's short-cut to the air builds on the take-over of Florida-based charter carrier Songbird Airways that has an own AOC, and the acquisition of one Boeing 737-400 on a lease contract with AerSale.
No details on a coming route network have yet been published - but the Boeing 737-400 will hardly enable the carrier to realize earlier ambitions for Trans-Atlantic flights to Europe..
