Sep 12, 2017 (newstodate): Starting from October 29, 2017, the Latvian carrier airBaltic is returning services to Abu Dhabi.
Flights on the route, code-shared with Etihad, will be offered four times weekly with CS300 aircraft.
This is the second time Abu Dhabi is put on airBaltic's route map as the carrier launched services four times weekly from Riga Airport already from December 16, 2013, using an Airbus A319 on an ACMI contract with the Czech carrier CSA as airBaltic's own Boeing 737 aircraft would require an en-route refuelling stop on the return trip, making the operation unprofitable.
The operation was, however, suspended after only one year.
