Aug 09, 2017 (newstodate): Without much fanfare, SAS Cargo received its formal CEIV certification from IATA on July 31, 2017, and the process is now rolling..
-We have contacted IATA again on August 7 to press for a date for the final written documents certifying Oslo Airport as our first Scandinavian CEIV station after the audit has been completed and all pertinent snags have been corrected. All conditions have thus been met at Oslo Airport, says Leif Rasmussen, SAS Cargo CEO.
-Next to follow is the completion of the certification processes concerning Copenhagen and Stockholm. We are currently installing additional cooling facilities at these stations, and plans are now that works will be completed at Copenhagen Airport in week 37, followed by Stockholm Arlanda Airport in week 43.
-I expect the respective certification processes to be completed around the same time, and by this we will be fully CEIV certified at all three Scandinavian hubs.
-It should be stressed, however, that already today we are fully capable of handling pharmaceuticals and other high-yield sensitive shipments requiring enhanced quality and special procedures. What remains is the final accreditation by IATA leading to CEIV certification, says Mr Rasmussen
