Aug 15, 2017 (newstodate): The Icelandic-owned carrier Primera Air is preparing to fight for a stake in the Transatlantic flights market from 2018.
The carrier is to bolster its fleet with six Airbus A320neo and two Airbus A321LR aircraft to enter Danish aircraft register as owned by Primera Air Scandinavia A/S.
With this fleet, Primera Air will launch daily flights to New York and four weeekly flights to Boston from Paris CDG, London-Stansted and Birmingham Airport - and two more Transatlantic routes are said to be announced later in 2017.
Primera Air Scandinavia obtained a Foreign Air Carrier Permit in January 2015, allowing it to operate flights into the USA.
