Aug 03, 2017 (newstodate): Kazakhstan is to set up a new cargo carrier to seek a fair share of the country's imports by air, today carried by foreign airlines.
Behind the initiative are two Kazakh companies, the airline Air Astana and the national railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
Efforts are now being made to attract a partner to participate in the project, and hopes are that the coming new cargo airline will be established already before the end of 2017.
From the start, the projected cargo carrier will be operating two yet-unspecified cargo aircraft on both domestic and international routes.
