Aug 28, 2017 (newstodate): The Estonian carrier Nordica is responding to the increased demand in capacity, driven by the country's EU presidency till the end of 2017.
Especially the route served twice daily between Brussels and Tallinn requires more capacity than normally offered with the carrier's Bombardier CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft, so as a temporary measure Nordica has taken one Boeing 737-400 aircraft on a two-month wet-lease from partner airline LOT.
Later, this aircraft will be replaced with a Boeing 737-300 aircraft on a similar arrangement with the Bulgarian charter carrier BUL Air.
Nordica will also charter a Fokker 100 aircraft from its former partner Carpatair to operate on some of the routes between Tallinn and the carrier's major destinations.
