Aug 18, 2017 (newstodate): Good news on the global penetration of IATA's e-AWB process is that the rate has now exceeded the 50 percent mark.
In May 2017 it thus reached 50.6 percent on a global scale, while the Nordic and Baltic markets, taken as a whole, lagged somewhat behind at 39.3 percent.
In May 2017, Iceland ranked highest with 79.7 percent e-AWBs, followed by Lithuania at 73 percent.
#3 was Denmark with 40.2 percent, followed by Sweden at 39.3 percent, Estonia at 35.8 percent, Norway at 34.5 percent, Finland at 32.9 percent, and Latvia at 17.3 percent.
The highest increases were seen in Estonia where the percentage was up 5.6 percent compared to the preceding month, while Latvia dipped by 11.8 percent.
Denmark and Iceland both dropped by 1.3 percent, while Lithuania was also down by 6.5 percent, month-on-month.
Percentage-wise, both Norway and Sweden grew on e-AWBs in May 2017, up 2.2 and 4.7 percent, respectively.
