Aug 07, 2017 (newstodate): The Danish company Blackbird Air Charter has completed a differentiation of its business segments within a unified structure.
As before, Blackbird Air Charter is operating a business unit focusing on serving the market with passenger and cargo air charter solutions, another business unit is Blackbird Crew, and the third - and new - business unit is Blackbird Air with on an own AOC currently supporting the operations of one Falcon 7X and one Falcon 2000S.
-The restructuring of our business has been performed to enhance the neutrality and independence of our air charter services from own aircraft operations as well as increasing the accountability and transparency of each business segment. At the same time it also marks a new stage in professionalization, says Ole Christiansen, Blackbird Air Charter CEO and head of each of the three business units.
-In the future we may consider taking the restructuring process one step further towards a holding company but for now the current structure will suffice considering the scope of the company.
-Our air charter unit is now enthusiastically adding the responsibility for sale and marketing of the capacity on our new customer, Copenhagen Air Taxi's fleet of four Pilatus PC-12 aircraft in addition to the fleet of Blackbird Air and other operators as required by the market, as well as the AW139 helicopter that remains on our partner, KN Helicopters' AOC.
-With this new structure we will also have a precise picture of the economic performance and profitability of each business segment to steer future investments, says Mr Christiansen.
Located at Billund Airport, Blackbird Air Charter expects the full Blackbird Air AOC and documentation process to be completed by the start of September, 2017.
