Aug 28, 2017 (newstodate): Investors have saved the Swedish regional carrier NextJet that is otherwise flying on borrowed time.
The Swedish Transport Agency revoked the carrier's operating license on August 18, 2017, over doubts about the airline's financial ability to meet its obligations over the coming 12-months period, allowing the carrier to operate only till November 17, 2017, unless convincing solutions were found to secure the financial muscles.
And this has happened: investors have decided to recapitalize the ailing carrier by injecting fresh capital and start a restructuring of the aircraft fleet, including withdrawing two aircraft from service while planning for a modernization of the fleet.
In the fleet are now 18 turboprop ATP and SAAB 340 aircraft.
