Jul 31, 2017 (newstodate): Starting from May 2017, the Icelandic LCC WOW Air has been offering flights between Cork, in Ireland, and Keflavik, connecting to the carrier's growing network of Transatlantic routes from Iceland.
It seems to prove a short-lived success, however.
Originally starting out with four weekly rotations, the service is now down to three weekly flights, and from October only two weekly flights will be provided.
After this, the service will be suspended from end of October 27, 2017.
The route was announced as a year-round offer, but it has yet to be seen if the service will resurface in the coming summer 2018 schedule.
Following in the footsteps of the carrier, the Danish aircraft maintenance company Aeroservice, already a provider to WOW Air at its home base at Keflavik Airport, set up Cork as a new Aeroservice line maintenance base providing a package of maintenance services to WOW Air.
