Jul 31, 2017 (newstodate): Russia's Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport has now completed the construction of the country's largest cargo terminal, Moscow Cargo.
After Rosaviatsiya has issued the permit to commission the cargo complex, the facility has started working on testing equipment for handling and storage of goods, as well as information systems, planning to begin commercial operation of the complex in September 2017 after the completion of commissioning and obtaining the licenses and permits necessary to carry out activities at the new cargo terminal.
The new cargo complex is equipped with automated seven-door storage and transportation system designed for the placement of 3,198 house-pallet; a four-tiered container storage area equipped with an automated handling system ULD with a total capacity of 576 cells, including 60 cells for storing ULD with temperature sensitive loads; 13 conveyor lines with access to the aerodrome; 29 points of cargo reception/delivery, equipped with leveling platforms and sealers of the opening, two of which are designed for handling bulky goods, and two for receiving express mail.
