Jul 04, 2017 (newstodate): The Vilnius-based carrier Avion Express has divested of its stake in Dominican Wings, an airline based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Dominmican Wings was set up in 2015 as a 65 percent-owned subsidiary of Avion Express, but Avion Express' stake in the carrier has now been acquired by Dominican Wings' President and CEO, Victor Pacheco.
After the sale, David Masson, Avion Express Chairman of the Board, will stay with Dominican Wings as the carrier's new Chairman of the Board.
In the fleet of Dominican Wings are Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
Avion Express traces its history back to 2005 as Nordic Solutions Air Services that operated SAAB 340 cargo and passenger aircraft.
In 2008, Avion Capital Partners, established by David Masson, became the major shareholder, and the company was rebranded as Avion Express, introducing its first Airbus 320 passenger aircraft.
Today Avion Express operates a total of 16 aircraft, including A321 that was added to the fleet in June, 2017.
