Jun 23, 2017 (newstodate): The first airline in the CIS to place orders for the Boeing 787-8 aircraft, Azerbaijan Airlines has announced its intentions of adding more Dreamliner capacity.
At the Paris Air Show, Azerbaijan Airlines thus signed an MoU with Boeing for delivery of another four Boeing 787-8 aircraft as an element in its efforts to grow its network over the coming years.
So far, no further details on delivery schedule have been made available.
Azerbaijan Airlines signed the order for two Dreamliner aircraft in February 2007 and took delivery of the aircraft in 2014.
As the second carrier in the CIS, Uzbekistan Airways placed orders for two Boeing 787 aircraft, receiving the first aircraft on August 31, 2016, with the second delivered on November 5, and in 2016 the carrier placed a new order for another three aircraft of the larger type, the Boeing 787-9.
Third CIS Boeing 787 customer was Uzbekistan Airways with an order placed in May 30, 2007, for two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft delivered in 2016.
