Jun 26, 2017 (newstodate): The privately-owned Indian low-cost carrier GoAir has ambitions for a major international break-through already before year-end.
The Indian government has approved the carrier's application for launching services to a number of countries including Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, China, Vietnam, the Maldives, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, while turning down requests for adding also flights to Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, Thailand and the UAE.
The Mumbai-based carrier operates a fleet comprising 18 Airbus A320 and five Airbus A320neo aircraft on a network spanning over 20 Indian domestic destinations, but has also placed orders for no less than 139 more Airbus A320neo to boost its international aspirations.
