Jun 22, 2017 (newstodate): The Icelandic/Danish charter carrier Primera Air has placed an order for two Airbus A321LR for delivery in Q4, 2018.
The aircraft will be delivered on a lease agreement with AerCap Holdings, signaling a significant contract for both parties as this is the first aircraft of its type ordered by AerCap and the first A321LR for Primera Air.
-The new Airbus A321LR will be a game changer in the industry and will enable Primera Air to be the first airline to open up new long haul routes, previously only viable with wide body aircraft, but with superior economics, says Andri M. Ingolfsson, Primera Air President and CEO.
The fresh order will also bring the fleet of Primera Air of new Airbus A321Neo aircraft to eight, all of which will be delivered in 2018.
Expectations are that the coming new aircraft will be placed on the AOC of Primera Air's Latvian subsidiary, Primera Air Nordic for long-haul operations from Riga Airport and other bases.
