Jun 27, 2017 (newstodate): Russia is fighting with a shortage of commercial aircraft pilots.
During the last few years, Aeroflot had to import western and other foreign pilots on special conditions to keep its aircraft in the air due to an intake of Russian pilots incapable of coping with the demand.
Now the shortage of pilots is caused by a massive recuitment by Chinese carriers tempting Russian pilots with wages twice Russian levels.
According to latest statistics, 120 pilots have left Rossiya for jobs in China alongside so far 20 pilots from Aeroflot.
Consequently, Aeroflot is now mulling plans for raising wages for its pilots while warning that Russian pilots leaving for jobs abroad will be blacklisted for three years, barred from getting back jobs in Russian carriers.
