Jun 28, 2017 (newstodate): The launch of freighter services by Turkish Cargo between Istanbul and Riga Airport from July 1, 2017, is welcome news in the region.
-We are excited to learn of the start of the new service that came as quite a surprise, says Audrius Lukosevicius, Kales Airline Services Baltic General Manager.
-Already today, we are selling capacity in the Baltic region on Turkish Cargo's freighter services at Helsinki including a road feeder service from the three Baltic markets, in addition to belly-hold cargo capacity on Turkish Airlines' passenger operations at all three Baltic capital airports.
-Selling capacity on the new online freighter at Riga Airport will of course be quite a new and exciting challenge. I have no doubt that the volumes are there, and we will be heading for a solid performance with Turkish Cargo provided the company takes a flexible approach to the market, including offering a competitive rates scheme, says Mr Lukosevicius.
In the Baltic region, Kales Airline Services is located in Vilnius, serving Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia with Mr Lukosevicius in charge since the launch of the office in June 2004.
The coming new Turkish Cargo flight will be the first scheduled legacy freighter service in the Baltic region.
