May 10, 2017 (newstodate): The Icelandic ACMI carrier Air Atlanta Icelandic has placed one Boeing 747-400F aircraft with UK-based Magma Aviation.
The contract took effect from May 1, 2017, and brings the fleet of Magma Aviation to two freighters of this type currently operated on regular flights to and from key countries in Africa, most notably Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Gabon, Kenya, and Togo.
Magma serves a global client base of freight forwarders, block space consolidators, charter brokers and airline partners with regular freighter flights to key niche African hubs, via its cargo operations center at Brussels Airport.
To boost the carrier's long-term growth plans, Chapman Freeborn Airchartering today announced it has increased its stake in UK-based Magma Aviation to a majority shareholding of 75 percent, while the company's founding shareholders will retain the remaining stake and continue to manage the company as joint managing directors.
