May 22, 2017 (newstodate): The Iranian carrier Mahan Air is still sitting on the fence at Copenhagen Airport, awaiting the outcome of its drawn-out negotiations with the Danish authorities to reopen flights from Tehran.
Mahan Air was forced to suspend services on its route between Tehran and Copenhagen earlier this year as an inspction by the Danish authorities revealed that unauthorized armed air marshalls were onboard the flights.
On March 17, 2017, representative from Mahan Air met with the Danish CAA, Trafikstyrelsen, but the meering seemingly produced no solution to the issue, and the services remain suspended.
-We are looking for a special permission from Danish CAA to come back to Copenhagen, a spokesman for Mahan Air told newstodate from Tehran on May 17, 2017.
