May 11, 2017 (newstodate): Primera Air has signed a significant contract with Boeing for delivery of eight new Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
The aircraft will provide the capacity for Primera to realize its plan for low-cost flights on new routes between Europe and North America.
The company's subsidiary Primera Air Nordic has already filed an application with the US regulatory bodies for launch of scheduled commercial flights from summer 2018 if granted a Foreign Air Carrier Permit.
Primera's order with Boeing also comprises purchase rights for a further four aircraft of similar type as well as a lease agreement for eight more aircraft from ALC.
In the fleet of Primera Air, part of the Icelandic-owned Primera Travel Group, are now nine Boeing 737-700 and -800 aircraft.
