May 09, 2017 (newstodate): Etihad Cargo proved a short-lived freighter operator at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.
With the first operation on October 20, 2016, the carrier offered two weekly flights from Copenhagen Airport to Abu Dhabi with Boeing 777F aircraft flying in from Amsterdam and heading for Abu Dhabi after the call at Copenhagen Airport.
These flights have now, however, been suspended, and in the future Etihad will perform only ad-hoc freighter operations at Copenhagen Airport.
It was known in the market that Danish pharma and diary exports constituted significant drivers behind the operation, and the carrier also hoped to attract Norwegian seafood exports to fill the capacity.
The Etihad freighter was handled by WFS at Copenhagen Airport, and Universal GSA is the carrier's GSSA in the Nordic region.
