May 11, 2017 (newstodate): The Caucasian republic of Georgia has high ambitions for opening of flight connections to India.
An air services agreement has recently been negotiated between Georgia and India, allowing for opening of direct flights between the two countries while the countries are currently also negotiating a free-trade agreeement to boost commercial relations based on a research study now being undertaken.
According to a statement by Georgia's ambassador to India, speaking at a meeting with the All India Association of Industries, plans are to start flights between destinations in Tbilisi and no less than six destinations in India "soon".
