May 18, 2017 (newstodate): With the latest revision of the EU Commission's list of airlines banned from flights into its airspace, almost 200 airlines are now excluded due to lack of compliance with safety and security regulations.
Almost all airlines of Afghanistan, Angola, the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Libya, Nepal, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone and Sudan are now included on the list.
Some airlines are allowed to fly only with specific types of aircraft, such as Air Koryo, Iran Air and Afrijet.
Iran Aseman Airlines, Iraqi Airways, Med-View Airlines and URGA, Blue Wing Airlines, Mustique Airways and Air Zimbabwe are also barred from entering EU airspace.
