May 19, 2017 (newstodate): Emirates SkyCargo was earlier a major freighter operator at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport. This has changed profoundly.
According to the current timetable published on the company's website, Emirates SkyCargo is now offering only one weekly freighter service from Copenhagen to Dubai on Wednesdays with a Boeing 777-200F aircraft.
Cargo space is also sold on Emirates' daily Airbus A380 passenger aircraft on the route, which however allows for only some 12-15 tonnes per departure from Copenhagen, depending on passenger bookings.
Apart from this, the company relies on trucking services into other Emirates destinations including Arlanda, Oslo, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Dusseldorf.
Emirates made Copenhagen Airport its Scandinavian freighter hub from July 1, 2014, operating 11 weekly freighter operations at Copenhagen as late as in May 2015.
Back then, the airport also saw an increase in Emirates SkyCargo en-route calls on flights between Dubai and the USA, in periods bringing the total of monthly flights up to 55, according to industry sources.
This traffic has long since declined and is now only history.
In Scandinavia, Scanpartners serves as GSSA for Emirates SkyCargo.
