May 26, 2017 (newstodate): Serbia is poised to get its first direct air link to China already from this autumn.
Plans are for the Chinese carrier Hainan Airlinse to launch the new service as an extension of its current tree times-weekly flights between Beijing and Prague, in the Czech Republic, utilising the aircraft's current on-ground time to add the further leg between Prague and Belgrade, in Serbia.
After an initial period, and depending on market demands, the flights between Beijing and Belgrade may later become direct non-stop, and will be offered two times weekly.
Hainan Airlines has been operating flights between Beijing and Prague since June 23, 2016, with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Until 2000, the Serb carrier JAT still operated direct flights between Belgrade and Beijing
