May 31, 2017 (newstodate): As Air India is now taking steps towards becoming an online carrier in the Scandinavian markets of Sweden and Denmark from later this summer, the issue of cargo sales representation has come on the agenda as well.
The carrier has thus opened a tender process for a GSSA to provide sales and marketing of its cargo capacity in the Scandinavian markets.
Serving Air India as cargo GSA in Scandinavia for over 15 years is Kales Airline Services.
-As a carrier goes from off-line to on-line status in a market, a tender is a normal procedure, and while the final outcome is of course now an open issue we naturally hope to be able to come up with the best offer, says Adam Gunnarsson, Kales Airline Services AB Managing Director.
-Over the years we have seen significant cargo volumes with Air India, and the growth potentials are certainly strong with online services as trade relations between India and the Scandinavian markets are poised to be further enhanced, says Mr Gunnarsson.
Off-line till this day, Air India shipments from Scandinavia have been trucked into Frankfurt and London for uplift with the carrier.
