Apr 24, 2017 (newstodate): With the launch of flights on a new route from Helsinki, Finland, to Malaga in Spain, SAS is not just adding one more route to its traditional network.
The new route to be served with Airbus A320/Boeing 737-800 aircraft is actually the first SAS route between two destinations fully outside its traditional core market comprising the three Scandinavian countries that are also owners of the airline.
The launch flight on the coming new route is scheduled for November 4, 2017, and the carrier will offer one weekly year-round flight allowing Finnish passengers to bypass the existing SAS alternative via Stockholm Airport, in Sweden.
With this new "extra-Scandinavian" route, SAS will be offering ten departures to Malaga from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and now also Finland.
