Mar 14, 2017 (newstodate): SAS Cargo is working hard to bolster its position in the pharma and seafood export segment.
As a first, SAS Cargo and Spirit Air Cargo Handling are opening Oslo Airport as a fully CEIV certified station already this month, and the process will be completed at SAS' other two Scandinavian hubs at Stockholm and Copenhagen in May-June 2017.
In connection with this process, SAS Cargo has invested significantly in cooling facilities and controlled room temperature facilities to meet the industrial standards required by pharma, and in Norway's case notably seafood exporters.
Crucial to the quality in the entire chain of logistics, SAS has also invested in a new GPS tool that is currently implemented with the pharma shipments but also due for introduction in the seafood and other perishables segment.
The GPS tool performs as active temperature trackers to monitor shipments and ULDs in real-time mode to allow also for immediate action whenever deviations from set values occur.
