Mar 29, 2017 (newstodate): The Russian-built Superjet 100 is now in commercial service with Brussels Airlines.
The carrier took delivery of its first Superjet 100 on March 26, 2016, and plans are to take in a further two aircraft under a lease agreement with CityJet that will have a total of five Superjet 100 aircraft up for lease before the end of this year.
Brussels Airlines plans to phase out its current fleet of Avro RJ100 aircraft, replacing them with Superjet 100 aircraft.
CityJet has placed orders for a total of 15 Superjet 100, with options for a further 16 aircraft.
