Mar 06, 2017 (newstodate): Russia is planning for establishing a new cargo hub in the Ural region.
The plans supported by the regional government have been presented for launch of an investment project for creation of a Trans-Urals transport and logistics center at Kurgan Airport, estimated to handling of up to 630,400 tonnes of cargo per year by 2030 on domestic and international flight, compared to zero cargo as of now.
The realize the plans much new infrastructure will be needed, including reconstruction of the 2,601m runway, and construction of new cargo terminals and warehouses.
The project is now to enter the first phase comprising design of the new cargo hub and, not least, finding investors to foot the bills.
