Mar 15, 2017 (newstodate): Star Alliance member Ethiopian Airlines has now put Oslo Gardermoen Airport on its schedule.
Announcing the news on its website, the carrier will open flights between Addis Abeba and Oslo from March 27, 2017, but Oslo Airport has itself still not published the route opening news.
According to the website, the flights will be operated via Stockholm, Sweden, as an extension of the existing route between Ethiopia and Sweden.
Ethiopian Airlines will offer five weekly rotations between Addis Ababa and Oslo with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, providing the first direct air link from Oslo to Africa.
Ethiopian Airlines has been operating the route Addis Abeba-Stockholm since October 28, 2003, after moving its Scandinavian services to Sweden from Copenhagen Airport, Denmark.
