Mar 16, 2017 (newstodate): Norway's Lakselv Banak Airport is looking forward to the start of freighter traffic with DHL's seafood link to Oslo Gardermoen Airport from April 2017.
-All infrastructure is in place and we expect other new activities to be launched also this year, says Ulf Myrmel, Lakselv Airport Manager.
-A new provider of aircraft fuel is expected to start operations soon, and new 2,000 sq m air cargo terminal facilities have also been established by Miniexpress.
-Starting from May 2017, work will begin on resurfacing of the airport's 2,766 m runway, with all work to be performed during the night leaving the runway open for daytime operations. Also a completely new runway lighting system will be installed in the same process the is slated for completion by October 2017.
-Further down the road will be the opening of a new cruise terminal targeting the turn-around of passengers and crews on cruise ships which will also expand the scope of air passenger business at Lakselv Airport, says Mr Myrmel.
