Mar 20, 2017 (newstodate): The Nordic ground handling company Aviator remains conspicuously tight-lipped since its retreat from the UK handling market.
Leaving only the operations at Manchester Airport intact, Novia otherwise retreated from four UK airports London Gatwick, Newcastle, Birmingham and Edinburgh by midnight November 30, 2016.
The retreat from the UK market, earlier heralded as a major break-through under Aviator's high-flying former strategy to become no less than "a global leader in aviation services", marked the end of a highly turbulent and little transparent period that saw several members of Aviator's original top management core leaving the company.
Instead, the company proclaimed that it would from then on focus its attention on its core markets in the Nordic region.
Serving as Aviator CEO from April 27, 2016, Jo Alex Tanem still offers little insight into the company's strategic re-focusing from a global to a Nordic scene.
-We are currently in a consolidation phase following new funding and withdrawal from the UK. Our former UK companies have been put into voluntary liquidation and there are still ongoing issues in relation to finalizing this process. In respect to this, I would like to give it a bit more time before talking about our bright future and the way ahead, Mr Tanem said in a mail in response to several attempts by newstodate to bring more clarity over the company's decisions.
