Mar 28, 2017 (newstodate): The Latvian charter and ACMI carrier SmartLynx is adding year another new airline customer in 2017 - the Israeli carrier El Al.
The two parties have signed an ACMI wet-lease agreement for one Airbus A320 aircraft to be based at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport during the period 26 March 26 - November 30, 2017.
Other fresh contracts announced by SmartLynx in 2017 include ACMI customers TUi, Thomas Cook Airlines, Atlas Atlantique Airlines, Norwegian, Vietjet Aviation JSC, easyJet, and Novair.
In the fleet of Riga Airport-based SmartLynx including its Estonian subsidiary now are 10 Airbus A320 aircraft and one A321, and plans are to take delivery starting from May of another two A320 and one A321 aircraft in 2017, and by 2018 the total number of aircraft will go further up to a total of 18.
