Mar 17, 2017 (newstodate): Representatives from Iran's Mahan Air are meeting today in Copenhagen with the Danish CAA, Trafikstyrelsen.
While nothing is known about the exact agenda, a spokesperson from Mahan earlier told newstodate that talks will focus on certain discrepancies in regulations on the Iranian and the Danish side, and before these issues are cleared the carrier has been forced to suspend services between Tehran and Copenhagen, operated since June 9, 2016, with two weekly rotations.
It is known that the US administration has some issues with Mahan Air's international services due to allegations that the carrier has been involved in carriage of military equipment to Syria, and this also so far barred the airline's plans for an early start of services from Tehran to Stockholm, in Sweden.
Anyhow, Mahan Air has again filed for rights and slot times to launch services between Iran and Sweden from this summer as has also been the case in earlier years.
